Hello, my name is Owen Davey (sometimes known as OD Davey for musical purposes) and I am a UK based writer, director and performer, working in song, film and the gallery. In 2014 I founded Video Strolls, a nonprofit that curates art and film events that explore place and journeying.
I am currently an AHRC North West Consortium funded and Disabled Students Allowance supported PhD candidate at the University of Salford, doing practice-based research into ‘The Enfoldment of Song and First Person Filmmaking‘.
My music includes Remote EP (Klaar, 2011), Dawn Hills EP (Klaar, 2013), Catgut Tape LP (Tomlab, 2015), Some Waking Woman LP (Tomlab, 2018), Sylvan EP(Knives, coming 2021).
As a curator with Video Strolls, I have programmed for Flat Pack Festival, Alchemy Moving Image, LUX, Trip Space, Hayward Gallery, MK Gallery, Caught By The River, Stoke Newington Literary Festival and Archway With Words.
Lecturing, mentoring or care work has been given at University for the Creative Arts, University of Salford, British and Irish Modern Music Institute, Arts Emergency, London and Essex borough councils.
Journalism has been published by the English & Media Centre, Media Magazine, Caught By The River and Den Of Geek.
